State-owned oil company YPF has awarded U.S. oilfield services provider Halliburton a multi-million-dollar contract to carry out long-term unconventional well completions in Argentina, Halliburton Co. said.
The U.S. company also said it will deploy its Zeus electric fracturing services internationally.
“It is a five-year contract for hydraulic fracturing in Vaca Muerta,” a source close to the negotiations told Reuters, adding that it involves “four frac spreads over five years,” without providing further details.
Zeus is a high-intensity hydraulic fracturing system capable of pumping larger volumes, rates and pressures from the outset.
